I began the SHAPE program on February 5, 2014 and it has truly been a life changing experience for me. Prior to beginning the program, I had some idea of how to eat healthy, but I had a big problem with portion control. I started the program well overweight, morbidly obese to be honest and in 5 weeks on SHAPE I lost 41 pounds. I am now into phase 2 of the program and although I know I’m simply supposed to maintain my current weight during this phase in order to reset my metabolism, I’m motivated to continue losing weight. I’m currently at 308 pounds with a goal to be under 300 by the end of phase 2. The obvious benefits of the program have been a curbed appetite and weight loss. But just as importantly, I’ve learned better eating habits, increased motivation and a better understanding of my health. I would recommend the SHAPE program to friends and family as it is the first weight loss program I’ve tried that has really worked for me. I’m planning on going through the program again both in the fall and the winter next year with a goal to get down to 230 pounds. I started Shape with just that extra bit of weight to lose, that weight that just always stays with you no matter what you try. In 7 weeks on the Shape program, I lost 12 pounds and that is without adding in any exercise. The benefits of the program have been tremendous. Not only did I lose more weight than I’ve lost on any other diet in the past 10 years, but I feel better about myself, my health and how I look. I have more energy, I hop right out of bed in the morning and not only do my clothes fit better, many are now too loose to wear. I’ve been amazed at how many people have come up to me and complimented me on my weight loss.
I also learned a lot while on the program, most importantly, I basically learned how to eat! I learned we can still have tasty and appetizing foods using organic, and minimally processed ingredients. I learned about foods that are inflammatory to my body and I learned that I can amazingly survive without sugar!
I would absolutely recommend the Shape program to others. I’ve lost the weight, I’ve kept it off and frankly I haven’t felt this great in a long time. I am so very grateful to Dr. Amanda and the Ferguson Family Practice for introducing me to this program, closely monitoring my progress and cheering me on along the way. Even if I didn’t have excess weight to lose, I would still do the program for the well-being and health benefits that come along with it. Thank you Shape Reclaimed.
I started the SHAPE Reclaimed program 5 weeks before retirement, because I knew that when I retired I didn’t want to be the kind of person that sat around all day and let their health just get away from them as they get older. I knew I didn’t have a lot of weight to lose, but I had definitely put on a few pounds over the past 4 years. I was on phase one of the program for 5 weeks and during that time I lost 22 pounds. I lost 6 inches off of my midriff, 3 inches off my hips and 3 inches off each thigh. Doing the program has helped teach me about portion sizes, helped me with awareness of combining foods and getting into the habit of weighing myself regularly helps me make smarter food choices. I would definitely recommend the program to others who are interested in weight loss as well as just getting well through food!
